The paramotor size is chosen to fit a pilot weight and height.

this is because:

- engines on both the M and L size frames have the same power.

- A longer propeller will produce higher thrust (heavier pilots require higher thrust for the same climb rate).

- a larger diameter cage is needed to protect the pilot from a longer propeller. The larger size cage can cause more interference with the initial inflation of the glider (this is more of a factor in smaller gliders because they have shorter lines).

With these issues in mind we recommend the M size frame and cage for pilot weights less than 70-75 Kg, and recommend heavier pilots choose the L size.

Please consider these issues before making your decision:

- for specific uses (such as a training school or trike use) you can use a larger cage/frame with shorter propellers to obtain a greater safety distance between the propeller and any frame/cage part. The use os a propeller spacer (such as part number M7A/1A or M7A2) can also be used.

- if you choose longer propellers than those that come standard with each frame/cage size to gain thrust performance, the propeller will have less clearance from frame and cage parts than recommended. To reduce the risk of interference between the propeller and frame/cage components you can consider these alternatives: you can use a spacer (such as parts M7A/1A or M7A2), this requires the use of a longer propeller flange (M7A2) or you can use an extended cage (on the L model you can use available extended cage components L1).

- for specific uses, or when using extended cages, added strength is useful on the cage. We suggest the use of item T9RG in our catalog for this purpose.

- when using longer or heavier propellers gearbox "shorter", the propeller bolts are put under heavier stress, so we suggest the use of the stronger T  nuts from our catalog for these  uses.

The gearbox ratios

are chosen together with the size M or L of your paramotor frame/cage

a faster spinning gearbox produces a lower torque, so for lighter pilots we suggest a gerbox ratio of 21/71 together with the M size frame.

For the L size frame we recommend the 20/72 gearbox ratio as the best compromise, the associated longest propeller length for this gearbox ratio is 125cm. For longer propellers this ratio would produce too much noise.

You can ask for gearbox ratio 19/73, which works well for longer propellers than 125cm.

Model ABM or PSF

Between harness systems ABM or PFS it is a very personal choice, if possible we would recommend a flight test before your final decision, a switch between one version to another is possible but often not easy to accommodate.

Pilots that have a previous paragliding background will usually prefer the ABM harness system as it most closely resembles the free flying sensations.
